I got some speckled flowers about 3 weeks ago(first zoa) and noticed something else growing on it. The heads aroun it havent been opening up and it is growing larger. Can someone tell me what it is?

I use boiling water and with a needle inject the water right into it. SOme people use joes juice, and lemon juice.

I got rid of my aptaisia with a combination of Tropic Marin Elim-App (injecting) and peppermint shrimp, try to get rid of him now before he multiplies.

that is the best pic of aiptasia that i have seen, sorry, but you are going to have to get rid of it. I get rid of mine easily with a Rid-Aip medicine, as well as 1 or 2 peppermint shrimp.

There is a nematod that is advertised to eat aiptasia, but the first combo is fine.

Get rid of it before those great polyps are irritated.

Do it in tank

I put a peppermint shrimp in my tank when I first noticed I had aiptasia, and he cleared it out in like 2 hours, I haven't seen any since.

If you're looking at going the peppermint shrimp route, be cautious. The peppermint shrimp from the Caribbean (L. wurdemanni) eat aptasia, but those found in California won't help you...I would personaly go with the Joe's Juice. You don't have to worry about stabbing those quick little guys. You just gave to feed it to them with the JJ.

I had alot of sucess with peppermint shrimp, you have to put several in your tank at the same time.
