my nirates are zero and phosphates are zero. but yet this hair alage i've been fighting doubled in length when i put a phosban reactor on my tank. any idea's are want is happing and how to rid it for good?:confused:

Sometime the nitrates and phosphates can be in your rocks and sand so you can have them but just can't test for them.

Tell us a little more about the tank..how long setup, lighting cycles, livestock, water (including magnesium), etc.

Just because you test zero doesn't mean they aren't there. Just means your algea is consuming them at the rate they "appear".

give it time. It took about 2 months for me to see results from my Phosban reactor but once it started to work it went fast. If your algae problem is bad it's a good idea to change out the media after a few weeks. GFO doesn't release phosphate back into the water but does get exhausted quickly if you have a bad problem.
