Bubble Algae spores.

Is there any proof that if you crush bubble algae that you spread spores and get more bubble algae??

No. I've been popping them for about seven years and never had a population explotion of bubble algae.

Conditions need to be correct for the invasion to take place. The cell needs to reach a certain level of maturity and then once broken the "spores" will need to settle in order to repopulate.

I would imagine that if you simply let them grow up and then defalte on their own whilst simultaneously turing off your water movers and return pumps to allow settling and then adding the proper combo of nutrients you would start to develop a problem. For most of us who actively patrol for the stuff the problems do not seem to occur.
