I just setup a 100gal. sump. I have live rock in it now, with my skimmer. Do I need any snails to help clean the rock?

Im guessing you will have light on sump, Yes you will need some snails, are you having a fuge? if so I would get some caheto, it will help you.

Light will be for frags, I have a 20g for the fuge.
Thanks

What about adding sand? will it help or just leave to bare?
I have a crap load of crushed coral, can I use that? or just bare.

For a sump, I'd go bare bottom. For one, it's easier to vacuum out debris.

I like the idea of some LR in there as well, but you don't necessarily need a light on it. You'd only need a light if you planned to incorporate a fuge for growing cheato or other macro. I see you're also thinking about a grow-out area for frags? So that would require a light. That could be one packed sump.

You don't have to put snails in the sump - they'll find their way to your sump from the display tank.

If you're dying to use sand or CC, you could think about setting up a remote DSB.

I filled mine with rubble. No light, I have a seperate Fuge. Mine has snails, pods, and bristtle worms but they got there on their own.
