Anyone using one of these? Here is a AOL video link to it:

I just picked up the 24 watt version for $50 at a chain pet store. I figured for the money I would give it a try. It seems well made and very easy to use. It even included the powerhead.

I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for so I am not expecting too much but I was wondering if anyone else had any experiences to share.

Yeah, it's more than big enough. The 24 watt version is rated for 400 liter aquariums, or about 100 gallons. My system only has about 50 gallons of water in it.

There is actually very little beneficial bacteria in the water column, most is on the liverocks, sandbed, etc.

My water is clear, I am more interested in this for the parasites and bad pathogens that could get into the water column.

u/v....
Yes they kill the good, the bad, and the ugly... But IMO/E
They are worth it. Especialy if you house tangs. They are cheap to buy and upkeep and even cheaper to operate.

Thanks for the replies. I am happy with the purchase so far and ultimately that I now have a UV sterilizer. :D

I found very little about this one on the net. For a 24 watt model, it was really inexpensive.
