I have some skeletons from corals I've lost and I'm wondering if they would be good to use in a calcium reactor?
They sholud have the proper chemical make up, right?
Anybody do this?

The skeletons are largely okay, but they might have picked up more phosphate or trace elements, as compared to a regular reactor media, so I'm not sure that I'd use them.

They are still in the tank, could they pick up the phos. etc. from the tank water?

Yes, that's the issue. Phosphate can adsorb onto calcium carbonate.

I did not know that.
As always, thank you for being wiser than me!
