What are these penductor/educators. What exactly do they do.

Eductors work by using a high velocity stream of liquid, created by a pressure rated pump, to create a low pressure region which draws addition liquid into the eductor. This means that when using the proper pump, an eductor has the potential to move 3-5 times the flow coming out of the pump.
Example: If you are using a pressure rated pump as a sump return and it pushes 400gph through the enductor back pressure, the eductor will be pulling 800-1600 gph from the tank for a total flow of 1200-2000 gph within the tank itself.
If one were to use a pressure rated return pump from a sump into the main display tank, one could conceivably have low flow through the sump but have a high flow out of the return.
Hope that helps.
