Hi all

I have materials to build a 48x48x12 frag tank. All polycast. Sides are 1inch and bottom is 3/4. I purchased Weldon #4 and #40. I've read all the threads I could about build technique but most are geared towards 1/2 inch and smaller.

Can anyone share some tips for applying the weldon? I've got hypo's and syringes. Would I use the pin technique with the 1 inch also?

Thanks much

From what I read, yes. There is a good acrylic thread on here that answers almost any question you have.

There are a number of threads I have read. I didnt read any "How To" on the 1 inch.

Any experts feel like chiming in?

Thanks

They didn't specify 1 inch but did mention anything over 1/4" should use the pin method. Fill enough through the whole gap and then start pulling the pins to ensure the liquid gets all the coverage. If you have any scraps, I'd play around with that. It is easier if you asked that question in that thread which is designed around acrylic then hope he sees this thread to respond to you. That's what I did on my acrylic questions. Good luck.

Mike,
Same rules apply to 1" as 1/4" or anything up to ~2" IMO. "Pins" method works well (although I use wires :) ) - same principle.

Thanks guys

James, should I use #4 or 40 weldon?

#4 for the pins method. #40 is thick and more suitable to thicker materials.
