Anybody have a mystery wrasse they want to get rid of or do any of your LFS have this? I'm looking to replace mine who went carpet surfin' a couple of years back:

That's a beaut, Dave. I wish those were around more often...

Not sure about locally, but they are available on eBay. Texas Fish Ranch or something like that. :) They have good feedback.

Question for ya... why are the mystery wrasses so desirable and expensive?

Thanks!

It is a resident of deep reef walls and slopes, having been reported at depths of 20 to 58 m (65 to 189 ft.). (This is one reason that this species commands a higher price than the others of the genus that make it into the aquarium trade)! Also, its collection locale is rather limited. As far as desirability, it has similar traits as a 6-line but doesn't seem to get as territorial.
