I have an Oregon blue tort that I got from a fellow reefer about a month ago. She had it about 20" below a 250w MH. I put my frag about 12" below a 150w MH. I'm not sure if this is normal but the stalk of the coral is turning greenish while the corallites and polyps are blue. Am I doing something wrong?

maybe its just from stress... I'd check your water parameters, too... I bought a few frags from a guy here on RC and they came in looking nothing like the pics he had sent me... but with a little time (a month or two) they colored right on up to exactly what he showed me... it also could be a different color temp bulb... a coral under a 20K will look different under a 10K or so...

any pics..??? any other SPS corals changing colors on you..??

Nope, none of the others are changing colors. I got a monti cap, some green slimers and pink birdsnest that are all growing like crazy and look fine.

i think it's likely the ora tort and not the oregon. ive never seen green on a real oregon tort.

I agree with Anthony...it sounds more like the ORA Tort. I hope you didn't pay the Oregon Tort price for the ORA...

I'll post a picture of it this weekend. I also need to check the strontium and magnesium levels.
The price I paid was very fair no matter what the coral is. I just liked the navy blue color of it in her tank.

OK good. It's just that around here the Oregon goes for at least twice what the ORA does.

Yeah, ORA ones have green hue to the base, main stalk and blue in the branches right.
