Got a new camera yesterday and wanted to try it out to get an identity of this coral.

Thanks Steve. It's growing great...bought it with 4 heads about 10 weeks ago. Has definitely colored up alot as well. Will this spread over the rock it is attached to, or will it grow up and out?

Doesn't look like a Blasto to me, looks like a shriveled/withdrawn Torch coral. Colorful though!

Blastomussa merletti for sure. Definitely not a withdrawn torch. Great looking coral. Blastos are hard to find here.

Are Blastos considered SPS or LPS?

Thanks, I like this alot as well. I am tempted to go back and get more of the frags at the LFS. The other ones didn't look as good and had smaller heads. But it is nice to see what a little time and care can reward you.

Thats pretty nice growth for 10 weeks. Do you target feed it?

I agree, that's a lot more growth then I have gotten from my B. merleti. Nice job!

I've just started to target feed it with some cyclops. That is within the last week.
