I just received a Hanna PHep5. I want to order the calibration solutions. After reading the instructions it states that for better accuracy I should oerform a two point calibration against two solutions.

Where I get confused is when they offer three calibration solutions. 4.01, 7.01 & 10.01

does it matter which solutions are used? should I keep it the range desired? i.e use the 7.01 and 10.01?

Just want to make sure as this is my first experience with a pH meter.

Thanks....

E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency) states that you should perform a three-point calibration on all pH meters before use in the field. I would bracket the pH of the tank. In that case use the 7 and 10 buffers. First, calibrate the meter with the 7 buffer, then calibrate with the 10. After that just read (test) the 7 buffer. NOTE: If the calibrations are not within 10 percent of the buffers then you need to get new buffers. If you need any more info, just PM me. Good Luck and Happy Reefing!!
