How do u make a ATO so i dont have to keep adding fresh water?
-will it need to be higher than the tank?

Please help so i dont spend extra money on one.

any DIY projects that will be cheaper. 50 bucks... for some fresh water, i dont think soo.

Get a Bucket and have it drip into the tank if you want something cheap. Thats what im doing until i get my Aquacontroller back. How much water are you evaporating a day? I would think a tank that small would be easy to keep topped off. I usually evap around 4 gallons a day so its a pain to keep full without a auto top off.

An old CD bucket [cd-rom] with a bulkhead for a locline, a few dollars for some locline, and a screw-type plastic valve on the end, dripping water into your tank. Set above your tank and set drip rate to equal your evaporation. Clear sides means you can see when refill needed.
