View Full Version : How long should I let my silicone cure?

Hi all!

I just put together my second overflow. Planning on doing it all tomorrow, with "it all" being taking out all my live stock, water, and LR, putting them in rubbermaid bins, drilling my new holes, re-siliconing my new (much less wide) overflow in, letting it cure, and putting everything back in. :)

So what I'm wondering is how long should I let it cure before putting my animals back in? Is 24 hours enough or should I go for 48?

Thanks!

Ahhh... sweet. I should have looked a little closer. :) Thanks.

FWIW, its just GE Type 1 and says fully cured at 24 hours, which is perfect because of the 3 day weekend! :D
