I think this is Ricordea or Yuma. Not sure. Can anyone identify this? It's my favorite rock. I had aptasia issues when I took this last month...since then, the vinegar injections and shrimp have helped. :)

yup, Yumas usually have the raised mouth covered in bump like appendages, while florida rics have a mouth like a mushroom, just raised and smooth.

Looks like you got a bit of an aptasia colony going, mine are getting away from me. I am hireing a squad of peppermint shrimp merceneries to hopefully eradicate them.

I have to get more peppermints. The 2 I have spend more time breeding than eating the aptasia.

have you tried raiseing the fry from the breeders? I have a book on how to do it, but I have never tried.

No clue how. But I am game. I'd be interested in directions. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you guys at the meeting last night...only one who posts here on reef central was there...scott, and he is very nice (oh! what a gorgeous tank he has) but, I did get to meet some other people and had a good time. Hope to see you guys there next month. I will be back.

Anyway, regarding shrimp..yes, I am interested. I was truly hoping some survive this hatch, but they probably won't.

At least they have their priorities in order...

Roflmbo. If you could combine both priorities, I think it would be perfect.

Sex and food?

I'm having a hard time believing you are a woman, Renee.

Got rid of the aptasia. The Yuma perked up bigtime when I added T5HO lighting to the tank. I moved the tank. I hand-killed about 10 and then I have been injecting them with vinegar and a small syrringe (it does the job so fast it's not funny), and as they die, a peppermint shrimp will follow me around eating all the goo they turn into. Well, the Yuma is far happier now.
