Ok, so I just bought a Nova extreme pro for my 46 gallon bow front. I went ahead and bought 1 new giesseman atintic plus bulb and switched it out for a 10 k. So now I have 2 10 k and 4 atintic range bulbs (3 current usa 1 giesseman) I was wondering if these bulbs would support my crocesa and if I could get any other types? Maybe I should switch out a bulb? I do have 1 true atintic at my house too. Any help would be great....

You may be able to keep the clams if they are positioned very close to the light source. In my experience, T5's and PC's just don't have the intensity to support good coloration and growth; however, you can maintain sort of a status quo. That then depends upon pH, Ca, and Alk levels being balanced. The giesemann bulbs are excellent quality as I used them in a T5 (5 bulb) fixture for about a year. Still though, not good results with clams. I would run 4 10K and 1 actinic if possible. That may help provide enough PAR.

you can run 6 t'5 bulbs 45w each and keep croceas and deresas and maybe maximas...

Im no clam expert but i bet if u were to put them up on the rocks aways you would be fine with any of them, even maximas. Anyway how do u like the light by the way? Do you have much room to access your tank with that fixture on it? Could you post a pic of the tank with the light on it. Anyway sorry to get off topic.

I really like my light, it gives much more than I expected. I switch from 2x96 w jbj PC and I love them. There is not much room to work on the tank tho :( but if I need too I would just take it off. You can beat the price/quality/preformace of this fixture! Right now I have my crocea on the bottom, he is 4''+ I dont' really have a lot of room on my rocks or something level enough to put him on. Besides, I don't want him to attach to a rock anyways....http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t230/txcowboy22/t5pics055.jpg

tank doesn't look too deep, just keep a close eye on your crocea to see if it loses color in its mantle, which is one of the signs of it not getting enough light.
