i have been looking around and some sites say that they are reef safe and some say they are hit or miss. Are dwarf flame angels reef safe?in a 75 gallon lps's and softies?

I wouldn't put any dwarf angels (flames included) into a 100% reef safe category. The pick at stuff by nature. Some things get more affected by this than others.
I'm sure others will chime in as well. --landlord

I have had a few centropyge, IME they all nip...whether you see it or not. I have had luck keeping them occupied otherwise, IE a big fat tasty algae sheet...irresistible food mmmmm.
I have a Lemonpeel currently, I see it nip every once in a while...nothing alarming, no damage to coral...
It is a sacrifice you are willing to make for a stunning looking fish IMO. A lot of people have them and just deal with it.

I just have LPS and softies in my tank and mine has not nipped at anything. I have had him I think for about 7 months or so.
But like most fish/crabs > they are reef safeish > some nip, some don't. Try keeping him fat and happy on your foods rather than your coral may help.

I have had problems with every dwarf angel I had. Mostly liked LPS to nip at. Flame angel, coral beauty. Had to trap them and return.
