I am setting up a 125 gallon aquarium in Southern California. I was looking for a recomendation for a heater to use with my Aqua Controller Jr. I already have a 1/3 HP JBJ chiller and now need the heater. Most of the heaters I see on-line top out at about 300 watts of power, which may not be enough. House temp in the winter at night would go down to the mid 60s

If 300 watts is not enough, use two 200 watt heaters. I recommend the Eheim Jager heaters because they can be calibrated. You can set them a few degrees above your controller's set point to provide a safety in case your sensor probe accidentally falls out of your tank.

Having two heaters is always better just in case one fails.
I would use two 300's.

Yeah, at least 2 heaters for sure, even on a very small tank. I've got 3 X300w. visitherm deluxe on my 240. They suck. Took me a long time to get them just right.
