high alk to keep pH up

Is it ok to keep my alk at 4meq/l in order to keep my pH up? I have excess ambient CO2 issues that I cannot remedy but I've found that by keeping my alk at 4, my pH tends to settle out at 8.0-8.05 during the day and 7.85 at night. Will I see any deleterious effects from this? I dose with B-ionic original to keep the alk up. Calcium is at 420. I cant use kalk as the tank is only 10 gallons and I have almost no evaporation.

That level should be fine, although some people report problems with Acropora and similar corals. I'd just watch the animals carefully.
