fluidized sand bed filter ?

Im running a 3in fluidized sand bed and I was wondering do you ever clean the sand or replace the sand at any time. The sand in the reactor still looks good.

no i wouldnt filter your sand bed part of having a good saltwater taking is having a good stable sand bed a lot of benifical bacteria grow in there that help out you tank. every once and i while you can turn the sand bed over but with a good clean up crew the sand bed should stay pretty clear
