Well, I'm closing in on having my seahorses for 2 months and I'm amazed at how quickly they have grown. They are very entertaining. So far no problems. I bought them from seahorsesource.com and I'd recommend them to anyone. They answered all my newbie questions and sent me two beautiful specimens.

Here are some pics taken late last week.

The male is camera shy so I don't have many good pictures, but the female (elizabeth) loves to show off her ciri.

Southern Erectus. Clyde is pregnant (again). Maybe he'll hold on to them this time? Last time he held them for two days then they were gone.

Yup. They weren't advertised on the website, but when I asked when they would have some, Abbie said by December 1. Abbie was very hesitant about selling them to me because this batch was not adjusting as well as other batches to new tanks. Mine took almost 4 days to eat.

I just wanted to say well done on the tank! It looks really good & pretty seahorse safe!!! I have seen some people with frogspawn in their SH tanks, & then they wondered where the lesions on the horses were coming from! lol, nice set-up & good luck with them!!

Yes. They are very good friends.

Seriously, after A LOT of reading, it's an acceptable risk.

It is very unlikely to hurt anyone and the enviroment is healthy for the clam.

I'm just offering my opinion here (5 years of seahorse experience and breed / raise them full time) The clam is not safe. They are known to close quickly and can severly hurt or kill a seahorse. Seahorses will drag their tails over anything or go after a pod on the clam and WHAM........dead seahorse. It's not worth the risk.
