I just saw this in my QT tank! The qt has been running for a week or so now at .009 SG. Today I find this worm in there? ***? where could it have come from? The skimmer is the only thing to transfer tanks, and it was cleaned before installation?

What is it and how do you think it could have gotten in to myQT?!!
Thanks

How would a bristle worm get in my QT? are you sure it's a bristle worm, if it is I'll just dump it in the DT. but I want to be sure!
If it's a bad guy I dont want it in my DT.
Thanks for looking, even if you do like sports coats and jeans!

Could it be a Polychaete worm? Check this out....http://www.melevsreef.com/id/crawls.html

I think it is Polychaetae Flysalot or the flying bristle worm. :eek1:Probably a hitchhiker from your main tank or from the livestock provider.

doesn't look like one of the bad guys, I'd toss him back in

I'm impressed that no wise guy has identified the dime yet.
I just pulled one of those worm things out of my fuge the other day thinking it was bad, so it's good to hear they are ok.

the dime was minted in Denver

Cope, do you have any sand or rock in the QT? What else has been in the QT tank?

All eqpt. is new to the QT except the heater and skimmer.
The heater and skimmer were washed with very hot watter (skimmer was dissembled)
Honestly I thought one of the fish coughed it up?

Never heard of that, but it's possible someone puked it up or pooped it out. Or perhaps some micro debris got in there at some point. How mysterious!

(btw: you coming to the reef club meeting on Sat?)

If I would have seen this thread sooner, I would have been that guy...:D

You know what they say, it's better to be a smartass than a *******. ;)
