Mushrooms!

how do you know if mushrooms are going to die, i have some hairy mushrooms and they are all white. all the water prams are in check. Thanks!!!

how long have they been in your tank? can you post a pic?

Can you describe your tank a bit more (lighting, how long it's been set-up, what the parims are)? Do you have any other corals in the tank? If so, how are they doing?

tank has been setup for about a month, there are a couple other mushrooms in there, and some xania, it is a 12g AP with 54w pc which adds up to about 5 watts per gallon.

White is not good. They are likely not going to make it. Can you post your test parameters?

Mushrooms turn white because of lack of light, guarantee you that if you put a 150 watt MH under the shroom the color would come back within a week, give or take. Half my tank are mushrooms and many are hairy's, Iv'e picked up great deals on colonies of white mushrooms knowing that within a week or two they will look green or lavender, trust me it's the lighting.

They look that way, but white. I have moved the colony into my main tank, a 120g with 520w pc. i put them close to the top. i have other shrooms and rics in this tank, so i know it is enough. any other tips?
