Needlewheel pump on Venturi Skimmer?

Would putting a needlewheel pump on a venturi skimmer make it work better?

I can get a deal on a 5 foot LifeReef skimmer (works great on the guy's 380g sps tank) but I was curious as to what would happen if I put those new sequence needlewheel pumps on this skimmer.

BTW, lifereef skimmers can be installed in the following ways:
Conventional
Counter-current
Re-Circulation/Co-current
Re-Circulation/Counter-Current
