Some newer Zoa's.

Have no idea what they are, but I know their not the dragons breathe, I have some of those and these in the picture have shorter, fatter tentacles, and these also are almost a black in the center rather than a light blue.

If someone knew if would be great. These guys seem pretty hardy and have spread fairly quickly.

Btw, the picture was taken with a HP 8.0 MP under 4 96 watt actinics, with half the bulb being the blue and the other half being purplish.

Here they are with the flash on, they are still very orange with it and even under 150 halides.

I dont know my zoas very good yet and any little difference seems to get a name but they look like lunar eclipses to me.

I want to get zoas for my biocube and i have a biocube 29 with 30 pounds of live rock and 30 pounds of bio active live sand and the lighting is the normal lighting that comes with the biocube so could I have them and how often do I feed them mysis shrimp

This thread is 4-5 years old, feel free to start a new thread in the various sub-forums that suit your needs.

as for your question, it depends exactly what lighting is on the tank, but im pretty sure all the standard biocubes come with lights that will support zoanthids without much issue.

make sure your tank is cycled completely first. then yes, the tank should be fine for zoas. you dont have to feed them at all, they live off the light. but you can spot feed the polyps if you want, as often as they will accept the food.
