I love that thing. I have to hack it back every month or it will invade my surrounding animals and kill them. It's the most aggressive and invasive SPS I've ever owned.

Time to hack at it again. Looks great!

Hi O2RedZ28,
What is the coral that you have in picture #7? The Purple branched coral. Thanks.

HAHA! I know. This tank started off as a "frag tank". Needless to say, it got carried away. I also have a beautiful 75 gallon SPS on the same system. I actually just purchased a 250 gallon tank (72X30x24) that will be replacing that tank. The 45 will stay with few changes.

The purple coral is my favorite Acroporid that I own. Its called Acropora lokani. Its a deeper water species that isn't seen very often. I've never seen one as deep purple as mine.

I hand scrape the algae every two days or so. I don't let it get a foot hold of more than a dot here or there. It's getting harder and harder to keep it that way with some of my more fragile montipora colonies growing close to the glass. I don't want to snap them off.

Very nice. I like the Lokani. Definately something I'll be looking for when my new tank is up and running.

The tank is a 45 gallon cube with dimensions of 24x24x20 inches respectively. The tank is lit by a 250 watt DE HQI 20K Ushio in a ROIII pendent running on a PFO M80 ballast. There are also four 24W 24" T5HO flourescents (two ATI pro color and two D&D Actinic +) overdriven by an IceCap 660 ballast.

It is suspended from the cieling in a home made box. The lights are about 9 inches from the surface of the water.

Very cool. How about a wider shot of the tank and stand? How about some equipment shots?

HAHA... Its very utilitarian. Once I can afford to build a house, I'll have a nice clean in-wall system.
