Tank bred fish are raised in captivity... Non tank bred are caught in the wild, bagged and shipped...

i kinda figured that much but what i don't understnad is if or why tank bred is better? (other than the fact that they're not being taken from their natural environment)

From what I've read on different sites is that tank bred are generally not quite as aggressive, not quite as territorial and normally hardier since they're already adapted to confines of an aquarium when compared to the same wild caught species.

I'm not sure exactly how true all this is, just figured I would let you know what I've come accross.

tank bred is better. wild caught tends to be more stessed, but can you blam them?

Not to mention the undesirable practices used to "catch" those wild caught ones. We go tank-raised if possible.

I've also seen some tank-bred species take to prepared foods better too. but I've only had a few fish that were tank bred.
