I have about an inch and a half of live sand in my tank right now, I set it up this way 4 months ago thinking I would be ok with it. I'm not. I want to add another 1.5 to 2 inches. I just like the look better. Can I do this all at once or do I have to do it a little at a time?

little at a time, 4-5 days apart, to avoid hair algae and other inconveniences: bacteria have to have time to multiply: if it's the 180, add a couple of cups at either end, using a funnel with a hose on it, or using a ziploc opened when you reach the bottom. Plain CaribSea aragonite [not live] is perfectly fine.

Test, judge reaction of tank, and decide on sand dose for yourself. But I'd go quite slow.

or pvc to the bottom of the tank, less mess.

That's what I figured. Thanks Sk8r.
