I have a powder blue tang that I would like to get out of my D.T.
Any ideas that would be effective? Tried the sneeking a net up thing but this guy is rocket fast...lol

Check out the advanced topic forum. There is a great thread there started by Anthony Calfo on different methods for catching fish.

My girlfriend works at the EPA any when they are doing tests on fish they give a slight shock to the water to stun them and they float to the top.

They do this because it is safe and effective.

I've used the fish trap by Aqua-Medic. A homemade version could easily be built. The trap works as long as you're trying to capture the most aggresive feeding fish, and you need to let them go hungry for a few days.

LOL, the thought of me standing above the tank with a ripped extention cord hanging from my hand and my wife walking into the room....lol I would get a stun from her for sure :D

I know this is not what you meant but very funny to me

Thanks for the big smile

I saw this trap and I think I will try it first. he tang I'm after is the only one that will eat the food I feed, so he should be the only fish even interested. ( i hope)... I have always been kinda sad that none of the other fish would eat their veggie's but this could now be my advantage. :)
thanks for the support on this trap.

You can DIY your own trap:

ha, this looks easy enough. I think I may try a 2 liter bottle though.
The target tang has way over grown my collection cup, and he is a rocket. so if he had to go deeper into a trap. I think I could beat him...lol
Thanks alot. Great (cheap) idea.
