I just recently purchased a midwest aquatics sulfur denitrator and installed it last friday. I followed the directions and after 3 days, I increased the drip rate. My question is that it is now the 5th day and my drip rate is about 2 per second, however, the nitrates out of my effluent is reading around 100. My tank nitrates are about 10-15... Prior to adjusting the drip rate, the effluent was reading 0. Is this part of the cycling? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Was your Nitrate 0 from the effluent before raising your drip rate to 2 drops per second?

You might want to give this thread a read and ask some questions there, as the guy in that thread seems to know the in's and out's of these type reactors.

Better yet, why don't you visit the forum at midwest aquatics and you'll get a reply there directly from the manufacturer.
