I have a PVC DiY overflow. I was going to hook up a small tube running about 30gpd to the tank, and then hook up the overflow to my homes septic drain. will a PVC overflow keep prime at only 30gallons per day?

I don't think it will, I believe air bubbles in the J tube will become an issue. They generally need pretty good flow to run well. Just split a line off the drain and control it with a ballvalve. Have a small portion of water run off and use an auto-top off to replenish what leaves the system.
