Ok so im constructing my own new sump out of a 40 gallon tank, its alrdy been drilled for holes for my pumps and the such but i was wondering should i use glass or acrylic for the baffles? the amount of flow going through them would be around 2000 gallons an hour. and how thick should each of them be ? thanks for the help in advance.

Glass... You can't glue acrylic to glass. quarter inch is probably enough. The pressure will be close to equal so you won't need thicker.
