I'm currently running Current's x2 250 w HQI t5 combo. HQIs are pheonix 14k and the t5s are current's actinic t5s. I didn't like the 10k HQIs it came with cause they were two yellow. I switched to the pheonix 14k but I feel they're a little bit too blue. I'm wondering what combo can I go with for whiter light? Do these ballasts tend to make 10ks in general yellow or was it just the bulbs it came with? TIA

the p14ks on maghqi ballasts are brighter/whiter than on e-ballasts

i run p14ks over my frag tank on maghqi and love 'em, but i've seen them on eballasts and thought they were really blue

you are running t5 actinics... maybe swap out 1 of the t5s for a daylight-type bulb and see if that helps with the blue problem

my Pheonix bulb seemed to get less blue once it burned in... have you had it running for a while..??

I've been running the pheonix bulbs for about 4 months. I do have t5 actinics though. I think I'll try switching one or two for daylight bulbs. Thanks Kip. It's almost time to switch the mh bulbs so I may try something different this time. Not sure yet.

switching one of the t-5 to a whiter bulb can solve the issue but this compromises the dusk dawn effect I prefer.

Snyder..
SOrry for taking up the thread as im confused.
