I have a 3-4" crocea that has started expelling some brown stringy stuff from it's syphon. It seems it has lost some color as well especially in the middle section where the syphon is. It opens wide and seems to be doing okay but I'm confused as to why it is doing this. I have a 2" gold maxima that seems to be doing well and a 3" crocea that looks okay as too. I have a relatively new tank but my params are all in check...
My tank is a 34g solana cube w/ 150w sunpod 14k pheonix bulb, 36w t-5's. All clams are about 20" away from the light.
Test results:
ALK: 9DKH
CAL: 420
PH: 8.2
MAG:1350
N03: 5ppm
PO4: Less than 0.05
Temp: 79.5-80.5
salinity 1.024
Livestock:
4line wrasse, (2) b+w clowns, falco hawkfish
green carpet anenome, 25 different sps sp. zoos, ricordea, duncans, xenia
1 blood shrimp, 5 scarlet hermits, 10 turbos, 10 astreas
Anybody know why it is doing this? Too much light? Too little light? irratation? I've heard xenia can cause irratation to clams by the toxins it releases but I highy doubt this. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jayson
