How much flow should a xenia have? Is too much bad?

Mine are whipped around pretty good by my a Maxijet mod most of the day. Then at night I shut that one down. They seem to be doing really good.As a matter of fact they've attached to the glass and started migrating up it.The only thing I noticed is they don't pulse very much in high flow.

if you have too much flow, they dont pulse as much, instead they stay closed... only good thing about having a lot of flow is that they latch onto nearby rocks faster, making them split... i would probably give them low to med flow rates...

Alk seems to make a big difference.
Get your alk up to 10-11 DKH and keep the xenia close to the surface.

High alkalinity and pH, and lots of light, are essential for Xenia growth.

i bought a big frag about 6" wide and when i acclimated it and put it in my tank with moderate to fast flow it was at MOST 2" across...i left it like that thinking it was acclimating to the tnak change but after 2 months nothing changed...about 1 week ago i put it in an area with LOW flow and its HUGE and pulsing like crazy...granted it may not split as often but it sure looks much prettier
