View Full Version : Does anyone know what size fuse I need for my DC-8?

I believe they are 6 amp, but what size are they?

I lost power from one of my DC-8 outlets. Checked the program & everything is showing the circuit should be on. No voltage at the outlet, & I suspect the 6 amp fuse for that outlet may have blown.
I want to have the fuse in hand before I disassemble the DC-8.

Thanks Tom

The main fuse for the DC8 is a 5 x 20 mm, 15 Amp fuse. If the green light is on, and blinks when it receives commands from the AquaController but there is no power on any outlets, then the fuse is likely blown.

Just one outlet on the DC-8 is dead.
I was under the impression that there were also 6 amp individual fuses for each outlet.

There is only one fuse in the DC-8. As I understand it, the new ones have a circuit breaker.

Why then does Neptune rate each outlet on their DC-8 at 6 amps?

I understand the 15amp total. Also every other outlet is working like advertised.

So if it's not a fuse, then do I have a DC-8 in need of warranty work?

I believe it's because of the DAC that controls each individual outlet. I've had mine appart. There's only one fuse...

What do you have on the outlet? Can you control it manually? Have you double checked that you don't have conflicting code or duplicate timer names?

I had a Reeflo Dart pump, OM-4way, & a maxijet 900, way below the max 6 amp limit. Everything was going good for over a year, & then I checked the tank yesterday, no power from one DC-8 outlet.
Can't turn it on manually.
Checked all my timer names & programs for conflicts, none.
The circuit is called CLP, & here are the timer names & all programs.

Also I keep all my electrical controls away from any salt spray in a seperate closet. The power from the DC-8 & DC-4HD individual oultets go directly to their own GFI protected outlet box.

I don't see any problems there. I'd suggest you email or call Neptune direct. I'm betting your DC8 needs to be serviced.

Sounds like a DC8 service to me. Like Doug mentioned, the IC leg to control that socket is probably bad. The 6amp limit is probably the limit for the current going through the IC package and/or a component feeding the socket. The 15amp limit would be to protect the DC8 itself from an electric spike, which most house circuits are rated at 20amps.
