Do you guys feel like they are different enough to consider one a show fish?? Or just another regal tang???

I do but thats my opinion. I like that they are not as common but only reef guys know the difference( try explaining to your wife that its worth the premium over the other one:)).

Nice growth! What are you feeding him?

Do all regal tangs get those blotches on their faces? I just bought a 3 inch regal without those blotches and was wondering if he will get them as he gets older. He was in a tank at the lfs with some that had them and I picked him because he didn't.

sean all regal tangs have the freckles if that is what you are talking about?

land he's beautiful I cant wait until mine is big.

and he gets fed along with his tank mates one sheet of nori per day. 3 feedings from an automatic feeder of a mix of prime reef and formula two. He also gets a cube a mysis soaked in selcon, marine cuisine, and a few other small flake feedings a day.

I feed my fish a lot =) thank you euroreef!

cl2ysta1 great pics he is a beaut! i got mine in nov 07 too and he has more than doubled in size. I never dreamed how fast GOLIATH would grow. It made it easy to name him.

I went with a yellow belly because i didnt want the typical fish that is probably in 90% of tanks . I was willing to spend a little more to get it and he is definitely the star of my tank. As they get older the yellow gets more pronounced. A few of the sites I was looking at before i bought him also state that the yellow belly is hardier than the typical hippo tang.

mr..tang go for it!

Would you recomend buying one small(1 1/2" - 2") or going a little bigger like 4" - 5"???

I have one on hold that is 4 1/2" for $120

It's nice to see that you had success starting from a small specimen. There are so many negative stories from people unable to keep the small ones alive.
