Is it better to remove the gasket on the venturi assembly used on the pump for the octopus skimmer nw-150?

Yes, it blocks the air hole. I only use them on the elbow that connects the pump to the skimmer body.

I run my dnw-150 externally so I cut a groove in the gasket. If it is in sump just remove it.
