are you talking about putting a sponge in a existing bubble trap that doesnt work....or simply using a sponge as a bubble trap on its own??
give us some more detail about your set up and where you ahve bubbles. we should be able to fix this without a unecessary crap collector that should be cleaned often

I am using a piece of 6" PVC glued to a piece of acrylic as a mini wet/dry and bubble catch.
The bottom of the pvc has slots cut out on the bottom for sponges to be shoved in there and act as a bubble trap. I did this with some aquaclear 300 sponges. However it did not completely eliminate the problem.
i'm looking for a possibly mre dense sponge, or anything that I can put in there that will not let bubbles pass.
The best sponge is no sponge. You need to clean them every 2 days. Redesign the bubble trap.
