Here are some photos of my reef tank taken with the new camera.

The amount of detail this camera can resolute is absolutely stunning. It's almost a pain to be shrinking these photos!

Tech details: 1Ds mk2, 180 f3.5 macro or 24-70 f2.8L. All these were shot at ISO800. For full detail, just use that Exif plugin for Firefox.

Thanks everyone. I got the new cam on Monday.

The borders are done in Photoshop using "Layer Properties", nothing fancy. In fact, it's the lazy man's border, requiring no special PS skills.

I'll grab a FTS tonight.

The pictures with the fish all appear out of focus. The others look good. Keep shooting. #4 is my favorite.

When a fish is predominantly all a single colour, with little contours, it makes our brain think it's not sharp. Our brain uses edges/lines/shadows to perceive "sharpness".

I can assure you that the subjects are in sharp focus. I usually discard anything that's OOF, regardless of whether it's a killer shot or not.

in fact, the typical lazy man (i am one of them!) uses a photoshop script :p ;)

F12 for horizontal black frames
F11 for vertical black frames
F10 for while horizontal frames
F9 for white vertical frames
