Anyone using this brand (Carmeuse Quicklime). I work at a powerplant and we use this in our water treatment plant to raise PH.

Does it provide a grade for it?

Does it provide a grade for it?

The MSDS says > 89% calcium oxide
< 4% magnesium oxide
< 1% Silica

Says also that it used for: Water treatment, Caustic agent, PH adjustment, Acid gas absorption, construction

But not a grade, like FCC, USP, WCC, etc? I discuss grades here:

What Your Grandmother Never Told You About Lime

specifically here:

Thanks Randy I will check the MSDS for that info. Also there is a label on the bag. It says it`s for water treatment so I would think that it is food grade? But I will try to find out.

Look for WCC on the bag (Water Chemicals Codex). If you find it, then it is a suitable grade. :)
