I'm going to cobble together a tank from stuff laying around. I'm going to use my old sump as the display. This is what it looked like new:

I'm going to paint the first baffle black and then make a stand that hides the baffles (and supports an AquaMedic light). The baffled area will be a 'fuge and mini sump.

The display area will be the rest of the tank (about 18" x 18"). I'd like to cut the corner section out to make full use of the tank. Would it be possible to cut out the acrylic and polish the side to the point where it would be un-noticeable or should I just cut it out and plan on running the walnut up the side and having a tank that's only viewable from the front?
