Let me know what you think. It's been setup about a month now, the rock and most of the corals came from my 10g.
Here's the old 10g.

Very nice looking tank. I like the island look, it works very well in the 20H. How is your flow through the tank, since you only have the one powerhead?

that is really nice. i am in the process of setting up a 20 H too. this has given me some ideas.

do you just have the 2 clowns or do you plan on getting anything else?

The flow is pretty decent. I'm going to have to change the powerhead from a maxi-jet 400 to something larger. Either a 900 or 1200.

Right now I have just the 2 clowns. Had them both now for around 5 years. I do plan on adding another fish to the tank. Just not sure what yet.

The lighting is a coralife 2x65watt pc fixture. I got it locally but you can get them online for around $140ish?

is the overflow just to hide the HOB intake or is it plumbed to a sump?

Very nice setup!

Very good looking tank. I'm diggin the whole viewable from 3 sides look.

I think you should put a MaxiJet 1200 in that tank. Because with that HydorFlo on there, it looses ALOT of gph. I have 2 MaxiJet 1200's in my 30g and both have HydorFlo's....Just my 0.2 cents..

Good luck!

Thanks for the comments.
The overflow is just to hide to hob intake, and to clear the surface scum. In the pics the surface is pretty bad, thats because I had added some items earlier that day and the water level was high.
Yeah I am thinking a 1200 will be the way to go. That 400 doesnt put out much current after going thru the hydroflo.

Go with a koralia.

A single 1200 is way too weak for a 20H. I had three in mine.

Thanks again for the comments. My 10 gallon had been setup about a year, and before that I had a pretty nice 29 gallon but the heater broke and the tank crashed pretty hard.

The koralia's look soo big otherwise I would try one.

Theres a nice mod for the mj that basically is just cutting the output tube back to teh main body and it kind off makes a more dispersed flow pattern. I did it to one of mine and it really makes a lot of flow.

I've seen those before. I'll probably throw a 1200 on there with they hydroflo and see how that looks first. If that doesnt work, I'll try cutting the output short.

hehe your worried about the size of koralia....but your gona put a Mj1200 in there with a hydro flo on it...that will be considerably larger then a koralia for half the flow...

on the other hand...your tank looks awesome...i love the rock work...you did a nice job...

your anemone looks really nice too...

I'm more worried about how far into the tank it sits. The Koralia I've seen would sit another 2 or 3 inches into the center of the tank. However I've only seen the larger models in person. Is the nano model pretty small? That might work.

Thanks for the compliment on the rock work. I keep thinking it sits too low, but it's very hard to get it to sit any higher with the pieces of rock I have. One everything grows out a bit I'm sure it will fill in.

I got a few new frags the other day I'll try to post pics this weekend.

the nano koralia is a piece of junk...the K1 is smaller then both my MJ and it still puts out more flow the mj1200...the K2 i think would be a little larger the then the MJ1200Hydor combo....but there again it will put out 600 GPH as opposed to less then 300...i have both a K1 and a K2 in my 20H...

i too really hate the intrusiveness of PH in the tank but i could not achieve the flow i wanted any other way...hopefully the next tank will be larger and offer more flow options..

if you want your rock taller you caould drill some holes in the bottom of it...3 holes per rock and insert PVC or acrylic dowels as legs to lift the rocks out of the sand a wee bit...even that one inch of sand on the bottom of the rock will have a dramatic effect..that is how the guys with the big tanks do it..

The pegs on the rock might not be a bad idea. I'll have to move things around a bit later this week see if I find something I like more.
