I have a question about setting up the controller:

I have two dosing pumps for dosing two part calcium/alk and I have them set up on timers. I wanted to hook this up to the RK2 on the PH controller to turn off the timers if the PH goes above 8.2 as a safety to prevent them from accidentally staying on too long.

What do I set the turn on pH level to? I had set it at 7.8, but when the pH got above 8.2, the controller turned it off but not back on. Do I need to set the turn off to 8.19?

In other words, does the turn on mean it turns on anywhere below that number and the turn off mean it turns off anywhere above that number?

You are correct. SO depending on what number is higher you can configure a device to raise or lower a a parameter like pH.

We outline this in the manual that you can download at our site in the support section.
