ok so i just set up a new 75g, i got a great deal on it. i upgraded from a 60g hex tank that had a 250w mh and 130w actinic set up on it.

so right now i have 260w pc fixture on the 75g, 2 10ks and 2 460 actinic bulbs. will this be enough for zoa's and mushrooms? i'm not against putting better lights on top, but if this is fine for zoos and mushrooms i'd like to leave it.

would be ok to start but zoa love intense lighting. i would look at MH, t5's or a mix of both.

yeah that's what i figured, but they will "survive" under the pcs though right? looks like i will be building a hood. i'd like to avoid dual 250w mh, how about dual 150's with some vho?

vho na, go t5 if anything go 6x 54 and you will be done with it. if you want MH look at 175's. i think 150 are a little week for and 250 might be overkill and chiller might come to mind but even then i think some good fans and cure the heat. i went with a happy mid of 175 and a couple t5.

what if i get another odyssea 260w fixture to put next to the one i already have? it would double the power and it would put less of a hurting on my wallet.

Id go with a mix of MH for main lighting and T5s for attinics supplementations and changing the look of the tank as well.
