What's the best way to cure my marco rocks?
Should I just let it sit in RODI water or salt water?
Do I need to run a skimmer or will I be okay just doing frequent water changes?

Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Flow ,Temp, and skimming combined for best results.

1 part white vinegar, 1 part water for about 24hrs, then normal curing.

I was actually thinking of using some vinegar in water earlier. I'll do that too then.

After soaking in vinegar, should I add A couple pieces of live rock to help with the cycle? I currently have a bin where i have extra liverocks with a PH, heater and as much as possible dont want to run another one
(trying to save electricity) so i was thinking of adding my marco rocks in it. Should i avoid doing this?

just rinse well after the vinegar and add to the bin

Alright, i just changed the water after soaking in water/vinegar mixture for 48 hours......THAT WAS THE WORST STENCH I HAVE EVER SMELLED!!!! I dont want to bring this in the house to cure with my live rock untill it is time to work with it. With that being said.....can i cure the rock in just tapwater with water changes every other day or is salt water recommended?? Or.......how long should I let it sit in tap water to get that smell out before moving in to my live rock bin?

I would like to know too. I'm about to order 75lbs, and wanted to cure the rock the quickest way possible.

I am tagging along since I am supposed to get my Marco rocks whenever he ships them (It has been 2 weeks). I plan on curing outside in RODI water and vinegar since I heard the smell is pretty bad.

I just built my reef with 150lbs of Marco rocks. I cured for 3 days in a10:1 rodi / vinegar solution with powerheads. My phosphates are thru the roof in my new tank. I soaked a couple of left over rocks in salt water for 12 hours and tested the water and sure enough... they were the source.

So I guess what I am trying to say is 3 days is not enough and 10:1 is not enough.

If I had to do it over again... I would probably do it for a week in 5:1 and then soak in salt water... and then test for phosphates.
