i just bought my first try at some dt's oyster eggs i got them in the mail frozen just like they are suppose to be. the side of the jar says soft when frozen. When i open the jar up they are yellow and very hard. i jabbed them with a knife and the top part broke up a little bit with some white gel like substance under the yellow. Is this normal? Which is the actuall oyster eggs the yellow or white? Do i get rid of the yellow top layer and dose the white gel like things?

any help or advice on what they are suppose to look like would be great thanks guys

I usually broke off a small frozen piece with a knife and droped it in a shot glass of tank water. stirr it and put it back in the tank.
