Overflow fuge?

Has anyone heard of anybody using their overflow as a fuge when using stand pipes?

You could, but it would be a small fuge and I would think you might have a problem if chaeto plugged the overflow pipe. I also like to keep a cover on my overflow to prevent things from jumping/crawling over.
