I went to my lfs today to get a couple peices of live rock. I looked around for a while to find some nice peices that was porus and had some coraline on it. I found the peices that I wanted and when the lady was taking it out the tank we noticed it had a feather duster on it and she told me I would have to pay $15 extra for the feather duster if I wanted that rock. I said no way just put that one back. Another peice I had picked out was had lots of little holes and crevices in it. She picked it up and looked at it real good and found a star fish in that peice then told me I would have to pay for it as well. I was like thats bull crap, just get him out. Well she couldnt get him out so I couldnt get that rock either. *** the best part of getting live rock is seeing what kind of hitchhickers you get. She even thumped a snail off one peice. So needless to say I didnt get any cool hitchhickers and I wont be buying rock from them again, especially at $7 a pound.

First of all, $7 a pound is outrageous. Second of all, I wouldn't go to that place again.

Compared to all the LFS around here $7 a pound is good... the cheapest LR I have found at any of the LFS here is $10 per pound.. and it's pieces that are HUGE, the smallest piece I've seen there was around 15 pounds.. Back to shopping online for LR :(

my LFS sells them for 6 dollars a pound. 5.50 if you buy >50 pounds.
