Just got a small Xenia frag.. thinking I'll put it up top with the most light and flow? I have PC's 10,000 K and 50/50 Actinics...
Koralia #2 & #3... How mcuh movement are we talking about here? SHould I point the Koralia #3 at it?

Just got mine yesterday, med flow low light for now. Always start at the bottom and slowly raise them. Ive read to much flow no good. Mine look pretty kool right now.Be carefull where you put it, they spread FAST and read some bad posts about how fast they multiply.

If a Xenia is too high, it will close and be very displeased. Place it lower and give it a clear path to higher spots if you can. It's interesting to watch them "climb" to a spot they like. Heavy flow will subdue the pulsing effect.

They do start growing like weeds, so place them where you won't mind a lot of growth. They can also move up on rocks on there own so if you place them low expect them to climb up.

If you want it to split, put it next to some other rocks in the middle of the tank with medium flow. The flow and the rocks will make it attach to the rocks and split, then you move the split frags around. I've had mine low and high and they have been doing well. More flow the better, but not a driect blast.

Mine are right at the top under P/C's. Let them climb up on there own if you have the space to do so. None of my powerheads are dirrected right on them, however stalks are right in front of my maxi jet powerhead and they seem to do fine being almost blown off the rocks:eek:

Xenia is a cool coral, but it can get completely out of control, so be careful where you place it. I am still trying to remove it from my tank. Mine seemed to grow like crazy the more light I gave them. Just don't let it get out of control. Here is what happens when you get lazy....this was about 6 months ago before I switched to more of a SPS tank.
I never bought xenia, but apparently a little piece of it was attached to one of my rocks. And here is what it did...

And even after removing most of it, it still comes back...
